Apple Cider Cocktail – a Gut-Friendly Fall Cocktail
This apple cider cocktail is a balanced beverage perfect for unwinding after a stressful day or made as pitcher to serve for a party. It is classy, warming, and full of flavor, but it maintains the microbiome of your GI tract and keeps you feeling energized for the night ahead.
Apple Cider and Bourbon Cocktail
This combination of spiced apple cider, bourbon whisky, and an apple flavored kombucha creates a fun fall cocktail that supports the gut microbiome. Generally alcohol can be harsh on the GI tract and can disrupt the microbiome when ingested in large quantities. The gut microbiome is made up of “good bacteria” that protect us from infections and aide in healthy digestion. However, this cocktail is well balanced with the alcohol in moderation, mixed a low-sugar, but flavorful apple cider, and topped with gut-boosting kombucha. The kombucha contains living probiotics, which are beneficial bacteria, that will join with your existing gut microbiome for your best overall health. I used Health-Ade Pink Lady Apple Kombucha which also includes digestive acids to aide in the completion in the digestive process.
