Quick Pear Butter – No Sugar Added

Chopping the pears into 1 inch chunks for quick pear butter.
Cooking quick pear butter on the stove top until pear chunks soften.
Allow pear butter to soften with the remaining ingredients on low-medium heat before blending.
To allow the pear butter to thicken up use this kitchen hack.
The pear butter thickens up with artificial thickens by allowing the water to evaporate. I leave the lid ajar with a wooden spoon.
Final result of quick pear butter is a spreadable consistency.
I decided to leave the final texture to contain a few pear chunks. They are still so soft and melt in your mouth.

Quick Pear Butter

Ingredients

  • 3 medium pears peeled, cored, and chopped
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice

Instructions

  • Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan on medium heat.
  • Stirring frequently, once mixture comes to a boil, then cover (with lid a jar) and turn down to simmer for about 30 more minutes. Keep an eye on it so it doesn't scorch!
  • Once pears are softened and liquid is thickening, pulse with immersion blender to desired consistency or transfer to food processor to puree.
  • If mixture is too watery after blending return to heat to thicken to desired consistency.
  • Cool before serving. Keep in refrigerator or preserve according to USDA’s canning guidelines.
